(I was writing my review while playing and I lost everything, here's what I remember I wrote)

It's overall a cool game, but I found two things to improve :
1) Enemies. At some point they can get really annoying. I suggest either you add some weapon, or you remove some of their abilities to make them easier to avoid (like slowing down bats and removing wolves' ability to jump), or at least don't put them in a place where it is impossible to avoid them, like a wolf right next to a bridge you have to pass from below.
2) The player goes waaaaaaay too fast when going to the left/right. This can get really annoying when jumping on narrow/invisible platforms, especially if the player keeps walking a little after the left/right key is released. I suggest you slow the player down and make sure to stop the player completely from horizontal movement when both left and right keys are not pressed.

Other than that, it's pretty fun to play! Challenging enough, ok music, nice graphics :)

Keep up the good work! ;)

Thanks for your review! I really appreciate the praise, and will do my best to balance out enemies in future games.

Nice game! Really fun to play, pretty challenging, cool graphics and soundtrack, original idea... It's perfect! :D

Wow, thanks for the glowing review! :D I'm happy you liked it so much.

Cool game!

I like the 8-bit space theme, it's really well made :) The graphics were good, the music was ok. The gameplay is fun but got a bit boring after a while; I guess it's because it's not my favorite game style ;) But overall, it was fun to play :)

Nice job :)

Thanks for the review!

Kinda cool :)

The game felt overall pretty basic : ordinary 8-bit music for menu title (and none while playing [LAST SECOND EDIT: The music just started after 20 minutes for some reason...]), repeated pixel art, unpolished layouts/maps for levels (I struggle at the first jump because the character doesn't jump high enough, and when I pass it, I crash either in the pit or in the following spike [LAST SECOND EDIT #2: just found out the ability to jump on walls... XD You should add a tutorial or something]). I suggest you revise your game a few more times and check these :
- It should start easy enough
- Music could be improved
- Art could be a little more varied and polished
- Some tutorial would help :)
- It can have some more original/unique element

It doesn't feel like a "bad" game or anything, it just doesn't feel "worked" enough. I know you want to make it 1992-themed, but with more efforts it could be a little more fun to play in my opinion ;)

Well, I do appreciate your feedback the game was made to be insanely difficult and I literally made it in a week for fun, I was in the mood to make a simplistic game for shits and giggles. Thanks for the review though :)

This is a beginning. What is done is good but there is place for improvements.

The gameplay makes the game too boring. You just shoot zombies, like that, forever - and it's way too easy, even in hard mode. It would be better if :
- 1) Pickups spawn less frequently (Hard mode has, like, 10 pickups simultaneously on the screen; I had 100 health and bonus weapon all the time);
- 2) The game was a little harder (or would get harder and harder as time goes) and, mostly,
- 3) The game could be wave-based (it might seem a bit far from the original idea, but I feel it could make the game more fun to play). Not only it would make it easier to progressively increase the difficulty (more/stronger zombies each wave), but it would also allow some variety in the enemies. Some random ideas : You can make zombie that takes several shots to kill, zombies that go faster, or even bosses.

Example : wave 1 starts with a few 1-shot-killed zombies, wave 2 goes with a greater amount of these, then wave 3 introduces stronger zombies, then a few waves later fast zombies are introduced, then the next one mixes all zombie types introduced yet, and each, like, 10 waves, there's a boss.
(Yes, that's classic and ordinary, but I feel it would already help making the game more fun to play. Also, you might have a completely different idea to enhance the game, what I wrote is just an example or a suggestion.)

Art is correct. It's not impressive, but it's not bad. If you choose to follow the example above, you could make a different texture for each zombie type.

Overall, it looks like it started from a good idea but it would need much more development. The current game is basic and get boring way too quickly, since after a few minutes, the player doesn't discover any new challenge. I suggest you add much more mechanics to the game to liven it up a bit :)

brunuu responds:

Yes, I'll have it all in my mind for a sequel to this game. This game is already old, at the time I was still learning the basics of pixel art.

It looks really nice! I just wish it would be longer and/or harder :)
Other than that, the art, the controls and everything else was very good in my opinion :D

Criobite responds:

Great, glad you like it! The next games will be longer, that's for sure! :D
